冬・winter

When they say that Japan has four distinct seasons, they really mean it. Although I've only been here for two, they have shown that when it's summer here, you'll be dripping in sweat and when it's winter, you'll be frozen to the bone. But lucky for me coming from Ireland, I've been thoroughly enjoying the switch from t-shirts and cardis to turtlenecks, sweaters and knits. Winter also means eating lots and lots of delicious food and being able to hide my food baby.

It's been a while since I've taken outfit photos and I remembered how much focusing sucks without a remote so please excuse thaaaaat.

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE

6 photos to make up for the last dismal two. If you've a keen eye, you may have noticed the differences in the photos (comment below if can you spot them!), basically, I had to reshoot and ended up changing a few things. So much for continuity!

Christmas is in 2 DAYS. 2 days people!! I know everyone says it but seriously, where did the year go and how is it Christmas already!? Looking back on the year, for the first time I actually feel like I've accomplished a few things. I could go into that now but I'm thinking of writing a post about it. That way I can look back at the end of 2014 and measure up my progress...in life? On the other hand, it'll give me a chance to share a few more personal things with you all.

On a side note, the tights I'm wearing is from the collaboration range of JOANNE HYNES x Pretty Polly. I interned with Joanne over the summer and I kid you not, these tights are amazing. No bias whatsoever here (maybe a little); they're super comfy, have a good stretch and hey, have you seen tights like these before? Check out the full range here! (available in arnotts, asos, topshop, nordstrom etc.)

How was 2013 for you?

Hope you're all well and the holidays are treating you well :)

sports festival

Just a quick OOTD post to share with you guys! It's been really hot and this maxi skirt is perfect as a light, breezy option. I didn't have my camera so these were snapped with my iPhone, I feel like the quality should be better considering this? We took these at a sports festival, judging by my outfit you can tell I didn't play.

A PROPER post will be up soon! Sorry! I'm not used to actually doing things in my life and being busy. (If you didn't know, I just started an internship at JOANNE HYNES studio. More here)

When I'm not posting here, I'm constantly tweeting and instagramming! So have a chat with me there :)

converse and cardigan

+ 2 weirdly edited ones just for fun

New Look Mustard Cardigan

Hey guys, so unfortunately I couldn't put up more photos because they just weren't turning out good due to natural lighting, camera quality etc sorry :( there were a few cool ones which I'm bummed about. I just wanted to show that by adding some colour like the cardigan or a chunky necklace and beanie, you can lift a basic outfit to some level of coolness. Maybe in another post it'll look better :P

So on Saturday, out of nowhere my throat started hurting and it is what I suspect to be tonsillitis (dun dun dun) so yeah my tonsils are inflamed and I have to say it looks pretty cool and gross at the same time :D some peeps in my family are telling me to take panadol but I just don't like taking pills. Not because I can't swallow them or something but I'd rather rest and go au natural with home remedies than to take pills...but I succumbed to their wishes when my head was pounding with a headache! I hope you've all started the week feeling better than I do :)

jacquard oxblood

Zara jacquard trousers
Urban Outfitters shirt
New Look jacket
(Photos by Kevin Ferguson)

Hey guys, so it was ONE degree the day we took these photos. So of course I layered up (hence the slight snow man puffiness-sorry :P) you probably already know but oxblood is everywhere and when I saw these trousers in Zara I had to get them! There's a really nice embroidery on it that you can see from one of the pictures, it was made on a Jacquard loom. What trends have you been sporting lately? :)
Soon I'm going to be doing a guest post about...something. Oh the anticipation. So I'm really excited to do it and you'll just have to wait and see what that's all about! Hope the weeks treating you well :)

P.S thanks for the great response to my last post about shy blogging. I might be doing a follow up soon since I haven't seen this being dealt with anywhere, let me know what you think about that :)

collars and collars and YEAH!

Forever 21 shirt
H&M knit

So I went on a shopping spree on Friday and bought some gorgeous pieces from Forever 21, H&M, Bershka and Stradivarius :) I definitely needed it since I was running out of winter clothes and needed to buy some warm, cosy knits and shirts. This one shirt I bought (above) is perfect! It has the spike detail on the cuffs, collar and shoulder and feels divine. I paired it with a not so chunky knit from H&M but next time I'll probably wear the shirt on its own with a belt at the waist. Oh yeah I wanted to see how instagrammed pictures looked on my blog so yeah hence the last photo :P
