I'M GOING TO JAPAN!

Yes, I repeat: I'M GOING TO JAPAN. A few posts back I mentioned that I applied for the JET Programme where you go to Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher for English. The process is really length and luckily I got an interview and waited for the results for about 2 months. Then on April 1st, I saw a brown envelope in the postbox and thought, "This is it. I bet this is it." and my thoughts were confirmed when I saw the official embassy stamp. It did cross my mind that it was april fool's day but for extra measure, the letter was dated 31st of March! It's so weird, I mean I kind of believe it but then there are moments where I think, "Oh my god I really am going!!" I won't be leaving until the end of July so for now, studying and exams are the focus. I was all over twitter about the news and I wanted to write about it here, well, 2 weeks ago but I didn't want to tack it on as an extra with an outfit post. As well as writing here, I'll be tweeting more frequently about what's going on in the next few months so follow me here if you wanna know more :)

So anyway, these photos are from the 'Experience Japan' festival that I went to yesterday. It was absolutely freezing but still good fun; there were dance performances, karate demonstrations, kimono & yukata dressing, calligraphy and lots of other things!  I also lined up for 25 minutes to get yakisoba but it was so worth it.

endgame

Thought I'd switch it up from the usual outfit posts and show my random experiments with the camera and playing around with editing! That doesn't mean I actually have any idea what I'm doing though. Also, I got such a kick out of bunnies on the second photo...I feel like they're a direct antithesis to my actual facial expressions. 

I took these photos a little while after getting out of bed and they've made me realize that my eyes are so puffy in the morning 0-0

p.s. I finally finished and submitted an essay on Beckett's play 'Endgame', hence the title (yay for informed post titles!)

If you're following me on twitter, then you've probably witnessed my obscene ups and downs as regards exams! But that's all over and done with *dusts hands together*. It's weird, I didn't know what to do with myself today! But the day right after exams I was a cleaning goddess and spent all day tidying, cleaning, and dusting my room. The result: a beautiful, spotless room/haven. 

Oh and as for this outfit, I've been unashamedly living out of these leggings and my newly acquired large sweatshirt is a godsend.

HELLO 2015.

Happy New Year!! Now, one could say I'm a little late but I prefer to think of it as prolonging the excitement (heh). As for me, my NYE night was pretty tame, just stayed in with the family. The 1st of January proceeded just like the 2014 days before it...studying. Literally, that has become the theme of all my posts here! Exams are next week so I'm feeling the pressure but of course, does that mean hardcore study sessions? Nope. It means stuffing myself with new years leftovers, reading manga till the birds sing in the morning, prolonging the hour where I'll have to sleep, start a new day, and study. I'm thinking that my new year's resolution should be to stop ranting...but then that wouldn't be any fun (well, for me). But on a less-about-me note, I hope you're all having a great start to the year!

GOODBYE 2013

I wanted to do a round-up of 2013 but not with all the normal blog photos that you've seen before! Sometimes when I'm out taking photos, I get a little weird and happy. The folders end up being filled with wacky poses, weird faces and a lot of jumping motions, but only 4-5 make it onto the blog; they're usually tamer versions of me. I make it sound like I'm wild, I'm not, but well, I get dramatic (as you'll see). I thought this would be a perfect way to showcase a few of the unseen photos!

I can honestly say I enjoyed 2013. It wasn't spectacular but I feel like I've actually accomplished some of my new year's resolution (how rare!). Looking back through my archives made me realize that my content is slowly getting better and I'm getting more comfortable - before I would think too much about the clothes, and you probably noticed as the photos went on that I started looking more like me. Or maybe you didn't.

Blogging regularly has definitely been one of my accomplishments this year!
